Frequently Asked Question (FAQ)
    Internet Explorer tracks

Cache (Temporary Internet Files)
Browser saves web pages, images from visited Web sites into your hard drive whether you click on them or not, so that next time when you visit you won't have to re-download the image. But this means that many megabytes of data of all types get saved to you hard drive. Anyone who can use your computer can tell where you have been browsing on the web. Erases these files to avoid others determining the pages you have been recently viewing.

Cookies
Web sites send small text files to your browser to keep track of your on-line sessions. They are particularly useful when you want a Web site to auto-sign you into a registration process. However web sites also use cookies to track you through the site. With Internet Cleaner, you can select which cookies you want to erase and which one you want to keep.

Browser History
Choosing this option will cause Internet Cleaner to erase all of the day-by-day history from Internet Explorer.

Visited URL History
Each time you visit a web site, whether you type the site's address into your browser or click on a link that takes you to another website, the name and location of the site is stored by your web browser locally on your hard drive Although this provides a good way to look back at where you have been on the Internet, it is also extremely revealing as to each and every site you have visited - even if you did not intend to go there. By using this option you can eliminate the "trail of breadcrumbs" left behind by your browsers when you surf the Internet.

Typed URL History
The file completion mechanism where Internet Explorer tries to 'guess' where you intended to go and fill in the URL once you started typing. For instance, if you visited www.softneoweb.com, then the next time you went to type in that URL, Internet Explorer would suggest this URL once you typed the first few characters. I.e. after typing 'www.so' Internet Explorer would present you with a pull down menu of all sites you visited that started with 'www.so'. Choosing this option will cause this list to be erased.

AutoComplete Forms Data

Erases the AutoComplete Forms data stored by Internet Explorer. Please note that erasing AutoComplete Forms data will erase all entries typed into Internet Explorer Forms that are currently automatically recalled by Internet Explorer after you type a few letters of a word. For example, email logins currently remembered by your browser will be erased from the AutoComplete memory.

AutoComplete Passwords

Erases the AutoComplete Passwords data stored by Internet Explorer. Please note that erasing AutoComplete Passwords data will erase all entries typed into Internet Explorer Password fields that are currently automatically recalled by Internet Explorer when a password is needed. For example, email and message board passwords currently remembered by your browser will be erased from the AutoComplete Password memory.

Downloaded Program Files
This directory is where Internet Explorer stores ActiveX and Java applets that have been downloaded from the web. Choosing this option will instruct Internet Cleaner to clean out this directory.
